HORDES of screaming fans turned up at the Mandarin Gallery on Friday to see K-pop star SE7EN in his first Singapore performance.

SE7EN wowed the Orchard crowd with his five of his latest hits like Digital Bounce and Passion during the open-air concert, held to celebrate the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

'SE7EN is a huge Korean megastar, there were several hundred people at the event,' said Mr Dylan Tan, Corporate Communications Manager at SingTel, which gave the first 150 customers to purchase the 7-inch Galaxy Tab VIP tickets for the performance.

SE7EN, whose real name is Choi Dong Wook, has a successful singing career, with hit songs in Korean, Japanese and English. He also played the lead role in the Korean drama Goong S, a spin-off of the show Goong (Princess Hours).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab, currently exclusive to SingTel, uses Google's Android OS, and is one of several challengers to Apple's iPad in the tablet computer market.
