[News]‘Se7en kimchi’ becomes hot search topic

Se7en

It has been revealed that on a Japanese TV program which Se7en appeared on awhile back, he promoted korean food by correcting a Japanese host’s pronounciation from ‘ki-moo-chi’ to ‘kimchi’.

In an old video which has surfaced recently, Se7en showed how to make kimchi fried rice on a Japanese TV show. On the show, a Japanese host referred to kimchi as ‘ki-moo-chi’ but Se7en straight away corrects her pronounciation to ‘kimchi’. This video has attracted much attention from netizens. There have been many responses such as “While recording the show, he must been a bit out of it and by correcting the host, I could feel his patriotism” and “What a contrast to Kara who created a big issue not long ago with introducting kimchi as ‘ki-moo-chi’.

[Note: Not long ago, Kara appeared on a japanese TV show and introduced kimchi as 'ki-moo-chi'. This is a big deal in Korea because kimchi which is known as a famous korean food has been used extensively in Japanese cuisine but under the name 'ki-moo-chi'. There is controversy in Korea over this because it is almost as if Japanese have claimed it their own so even though it may seem like something quite insignificant, it means alot to his image in Korea]
